Clearly I’m a bit behind on the movie news but who knew that an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby was going to be released next year? On top of that, talk about two incredible actors cast in the lead roles.
Carey Mulligan (pictured above) will play Daisy Buchanan while Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio has been cast as Jay Gatsby.
Also in the cast and somewhat of a surprise of sorts, Tobey McGuire in the pivotal role of Nick Carraway.
There are still months ahead before the trailer is released but with Baz Luhrmann at the helm as director (for those who don’t know, he directed and wrote the screenplays for Moulin Rouge, the 1996 adaptation of Romeo & Juliet also starring Leo, andn Australia but we can all forget about that last one), it’s sure to be a great film. The fact that Carey and Leo are playing two major roles in the film makes it 100% hype worthy.
This has been declared the unofficial hype of the week.
